The software that comes with the camera allows full auto or manual control over such things as focus, white balance, and zoom. Logitech Quickcam Pro for Notebooks price: $80
If you're working from a laptop this camera is the way to go. With a Carl Zeiss lens, resolution up to 960x720, and 30 fps, this camera is very adequate. It comes with most of the same software and features of the Quickcam Pro 9000 and, in addition, has a clip for hooking onto a laptop monitor. One thing to note, however, as a webcam performer you may be asked to move your camera or change the angle.
